We added Maddie to the farm in an effort to class up the joint! Sweet Maddie is considerably underweight right now!!! I tried to pick out the most flattering pictures I could, everyone knows that most girls hate their picture taken!!
Maddies journey to the Lazy J Acres:
Maddie is the real deal. She was born at the Anheuser Busch stables in St Louis, MO and is registered with the Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A. As a weanling she was sold to couple in CA where she lived for 6 years before being sold to Anjie in Eugene OR. Anjie had her for about a year and a half before selling her to a lady I will refer to as the "Evil %itch".
The "Evil %itch" bought Maddie from Anjie but Anjie loved Maddie so much that she put in the contract that she would have first buy back if the "Evil %itch" ever tried selling Maddie. About 10 weeks after selling this sweet girl Anjie decided to check on Maddie and found her severly underweight (we're guessing about 400lbs) and bought her back. Our assumption is that the "Evil %itch" starved her for that 10 weeks. But unfortunately due to circumstances Anjie still needed to find Maddie a new home so she started advertising Maddie again.
Enter Jody, my wife. Jody fell in love right away and decided she HAD to have Maddie for her personal trail horse so over the mountain pass in a snow storm pulling a horse trailer we go to Eugene. After a thorough interrogation by Anjie it was decided that Maddie could come live with us and keep Skeeter company. Jody had always promised Skeeter a girlfriend. Hope Skeeter likes big girls!!!
Maddie is slowly putting the weight back on and filling out and should be stunning when she gets back up to where she should be and we look forward to riding and maybe showing Maddie either late this summer or the next!
